MULTAN: Senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Wednesday that he did not speak a single word against the army or judiciary as he respects both the institutions.
Speaking at a press conference at the Multan press club, he clarified that he had just reiterated Imran Khan’s views against the army and judiciary.
“I feel ashamed for arguing with Federal Minister Khawaja Asif while defending Imran Khan,” he added.
Hashmi said that four-army chiefs in the past had saluted him in the National Assembly and had always honoured him so how would he dare speak against the armed forces.
“I love the armed forces and respect judicial institutions and its members,” Hashmi said
Claiming he would sacrifice his life for the honour of the country’s armed forces, he said that he could not think about speaking a single word against the beloved army and its cherished leaders.
Javed Hashmi further challenged PTI chief Imran Khan to join a live debate discussing his thoughts about the armed forces and the judiciary.
He said that Imran informed him about Gen Tariq’s role during the Islamabad sit in and the Supreme Court’s preparations for a takeover when the vacations of the judges had been called off.
Imran Khan lost all respect, according to Javed Hashmi, after receiving a bribe of Rs 40-50 Million for allocating a party ticket to a Patwari from Rawalpindi in the provincial assembly.
