KARACHI: A five-member bench chaired by Chief Justice Supreme Court Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of Panama Leaks case today (Friday) on the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other parties.
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had directed all parties to consult with their legal teams regarding the formation of a legal commission.
As per the court order, the commission will comprise of one judge who shall have the authority to call anyone as part of the probe.
However PTI on Thursday said that it was not in favour of forming a commission. “We feel that the bench hearing the case is qualified,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Jamat-e-Islami remained in favour of formation of the commission but on the condition that the Supreme Court should also formulate the Terms of Reference.
