Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has undergone a computed tomography (CT) scan at a hospital in Islamabad, media reports said on Sunday.
According to sources, the medical board constituted on order of the court had suggested CT scans of former Punjab chief minister. The board will analyse reports of the CT scans today.
Sources had earlier said that the medical report of Shehbaz Sharif had showed signs of a ‘blood cancer’.
Medical board, comprising three doctors of polyclinic, examined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and conducted his blood tests after he complained of pain in his throat.
Following the findings of his medical report, doctors had advised that Shehbaz’s CT scan be conducted on an urgent basis, sources further said. It is the second time that the former chief has been diagnosed with cancer. On October 5, the National Accountability Bureau arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
Separately, the anti-corruption watchdog has allowed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to meet his brother and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shehbaz Sharif. The PML-N president is under NAB custody in relation to corruption charges in Ashiana Housing Scandal.
Former PM Nawaz Sharif had requested to meet his brother and opposition leader in the National Assembly. After the approval of the request, Nawaz Sharif will meet the PML-N president today.
The NAB had denied allegations of ill-treatment saying that the suspect was treated well and produced before the courts regularly.
