ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Wednesday resumed hearings of supplementary reference cases against former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his family filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir will be hearing the case.
The court will be deciding upon the inclusion of the recorded statements of the investigating officer, key witness and former head of Panama Papers Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia, whether to be recorded in Avenfield properties or in Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference cases.
During the last hearing on Tuesday, Maryam Nawaz’s counsel Amjad Pervez cross-examined prosecution witness Director General (DG) NAB operations Zahir Shah, who was recently invited as a witness.
Shah informed the court that he had acquired a copy of Volume X of the JIT report from the Supreme Court registrar and had only shared its content with the investigation officer.
Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif along with daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar were charged in Al-Azizia Steel Mills, Avenfield Properties and Flagship Investment Limited reference cases in September last year by NAB following the Panama Papers verdict.
