On his arrival from London on Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan cut short his stay in Lahore and left for Islamabad in a hurry.
Reports suggested that Khan cancelled scheduled visits to party’s camps set up across the city to mobilise support for its gathering in Minar-e-Pakistan over the weekend after receiving alerts about security threats.
During his short stay in Lahore, he attended a ceremony at the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital and visited Abdul Allem Khan’s residence where he met several delegations. He visited Data Darbar to offer Fatiha before leaving for Islamabad.
Khan was scheduled to address party camps at Bhati Gate, Shah Alam Market, Mochi Gate, Delhi Gate and Sheraanwala Gate.
Speaking at the event at SKMH, Khan said lack of trust in the PML-N government was the reason why people were not paying taxes in the country.
When media persons asked him after the event if Chaudhry Nisar had made up his mind about joining the PTI, he refused to respond. However, he said, “A big wicket is expected to fall in the coming days. So it is better if we focus on that.”
