LAHORE: Ayesha Ahad once again returned to the scene on Saturday, demanding a transparent inquiry against Hamza Shahbaz.
Addressing a press conference along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdous Ashiq Awan, Ayesha Ahad said that gross injustice had been done to her. “I have been going to the courts since the past seven years to get justice, but to no avail. Nawaz Sharif and his wife Kulsoom Nawaz themselves were witnesses to what was done to me. Hamza Shahbaz lied in order to marry me,” she added.
Ayesha said that she would go to the Election Commission of Pakistan and file a reference for Hamza’s disqualification.
“I have not been able to approach the ECP so far because these people are very powerful. However, thanks to the Supreme Court, I am once again hopeful of getting justice,” she said. Ayesha said that she was not doing this on the behest of the PTI.
Ayesha said that the prime minister had formed a committee to investigate the claims made by Ayesha Gulalai. “However, no one has raised his voice for me,” she said. “Mian sahib, when will you form a committee for the daughter-in-law of your own house?” she asked.
“How can the PML-N talk about the rights of women, when their party workers used to beat me up with shoes,” she said.
