RAWALPINDI: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday criticised political opponents while addressing a public gathering in Saroba.
“Some political parties criticise me for raising my voice for Islam. If you are proud of being secular; of being non-believers, then I am proud of to be pro-Islam,” he said.
“These days, there is no distinction between halal and haraam; only money and power talks,” he said. “The West considers every bearded man and hijab-wearing woman a terrorist. Unless the West changes this attitude, there will be no control over terrorism. I am a straight-talker. I talk in this way even with my own party leadership,” he said. “I have been in politics for 35 years. Some people tried to buy me by offering me positions. With the grace of God, I never sold myself,” he said. “You should not listen to people who campaign for change. Change cannot be expected from people who have pillaged the country,” he said.
