ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday pointed the finger squarely at the performance of intelligence agencies. At a ceremony held to mark the Labour Day at Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF), Wah, he said, “If security is not adequate in high-risk areas such Wah Cantonment, then this can raise questions over the performance of intelligence and security agencies,” he said. “If even the life of a Wah factory labourer is not safe, then may God protect us all. People told me not to be here due to security threats. Those who are spreading these rumours are inane,” he said. The interior minister said that the prestige of POF was due to its employees. He announced a Rs 1.2 billion financial package for the POF employees, as well as a 25 percent raise in their basic salaries and two additional promotions.
