LARKANA: Sindh National Front Chairman and Former Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto’s elder brother Haji Mashooque Ali Bhutto has passed away in a private medical center of Karachi on Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 86.
His body was brought to his ancestral village in an ambulance. Haji Mashooque was hospitalized few days ago due to his deteriorating health. His funeral prayer was offered at his native village Mirpur Bhutto and later laid to rest in the family’s graveyard. Haji Mashooque was a landlord and a known mystic poet of Sindhi language.
His poetry has also been sung by noted singer Abida Parveen “Nimanee Nazar Saan Nihaare Wanjeen ha – Mual Khe Ta Mithra Jeeyare Wanjeen ha”. In 1992, he was appointed as an adviser to the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif for Fisheries & Livestock and remained posted till the end of the government. He left behind a widow, two sons namely Rasul Bux alias Muhammad Aslam, Asif Ali Bhutto and four daughters.
His son Asif lives in USA and is expected to arrive on Saturday. A Large number of people, including relatives, friends and party activists took part in the funeral prayers which include Ameer Bux Bhutto, Aslam Bhutto, Ali Haider Bhutto, Aamir Bhutto, Abdul Samad Bhutto, Dr Roshan Pechuho, Allah Warayo Soomro, Ibrahim Abro, Sher Khan Khoso and Adeel Hulio.
