Young Pakistanis have been anchoring their marks in versatile fields from being youngest Microsoft professionals (Arifa Karim; Huzair Awan), formula 1 designers to being award winning business ideas presenters. Recently held World Universities’ Debating Championships 2019 (WUDC) Cape Town, South Africa, LUMS was one of the few institutions representing Pakistan at the global stage followed by Kinnaird College putting up an amazing performance at WUDS.
Taha Iqbal and Talha Wani breaking 12th on the ESL and ranking 16th and 19th Best Speakers of the World on the ESL respectively, received due accolades and appraisals. LUMS accumulated a total of 14 points with three firsts and two seconds and hence the duo became the highest performing debate team in terms of total speaker points ever in the debating history of Pakistan.
The Pakistani Debating Community as a whole holds its head high with all of its achievements. Such success stories inspire other debaters to try and achieve greater heights.
