An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday adjourned until November 5 the hearing of a reference filed against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar for allegedly accumulating assets beyond the declared sources of income.
As the hearing into reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) resumed, the lawyer of former president of National Bank of Pakistan Saeed Ahmed, who is facing charges of tampering with the record, cross-examined prosecution’s star witness Tariq Saleem. Other accused in the case, including Naeem Ahmed and Mansoor Rizvi, were also present in the court. Citing medical reasons, Ahmed’s counsel requested the court to adjourn the hearing. The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing till Nov 5.
Meanwhile, the NAB has prepared another reference against Ishaq Dar regarding the circular debt. The anti-graft watchdog is seeking details of payment of Rs480 billion to the power producers during the PML-N tenure.
