ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s leader Maryam Nawaz and her husband Capt (retd) Safdar’s defense counsel Amjad Pervez on Friday presents his final arguments in the accountability court in Avenfield case.
As the session began, Pervez presented the prosecution witness Mazhar Raza Bangash’s letter and questioned its authenticity.
The defense counsel remarked, Bangash told him that he presented the record in the sealed envelope, however, according to NAB’s witness Zawar Manzoor, the envelope was not sealed.
Pervez further argued that the documents submitted by Bangash were photocopies of the original ones, which according to the Law of Evidence (Pakistan’s Qanun-e-Shahadat Order, 1984) can not be the part of court’s record.
Nawaz and family are facing three corruption cases filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) which are based on Joint Investigation Team’s findings and Supreme Court’s Panama verdict.
The hearing is currently underway.
