The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has ordered the formation of a judicial commission to probe the Army Public School (APS) attack.
CJ Nisar issued the directive on Wednesday, asking the chief justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) to form the commission and submit a report on it within two months.
The commission will include at least one judge from PHC.
The CJP, on his previous visit to the city, took notice of how the case was still languishing in the courts and issued a notice to the provincial government.
The notice comes in the wake of concerted efforts and protests by parents who lost their children in the APS attack. Earlier this week, a group of parents staged a protest in front of the court’s registry in Peshawar. The protesters urged the top judge to provide justice to their deceased children.
