ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday ordered the government to submit a certificate on the fifth of every month, highlighting that all government salaries had been paid.
The CJP made this order when he was hearing a case over the Capital Development Authority (CDA) not paying salaries to its employees.
Chairman CDA Usman Bajwa remarked during the hearing that all daily wage employees of CDA had been paid their salaries on the 4th of May.
The CJP then ordered Bajwa to submit a certificate highlighting this point.
Officials of the finance ministry also informed the apex court that they had submitted on Friday a certificate which guaranteed that employees had been paid their salaries.
The Chief Justice then remarked that the prime minister should present certificates to the court that highlight that government employees have been paid.
At the case’s last hearing on Friday, the CJP had claimed that he would only receive his salary every month after all government employees had been paid.
