KOHAT: Police have arrested an accomplice of the accused in the murder case of a medical student in Kohat.
The victim was an MBBS student at a medical college in Abbottabad. She was shot thrice by the accused, Mujahidullah Afridi, over marriage refusal.
Mujahidullah reportedly fled the country through Benazir Bhutto International Airport as soon as the incident happened.
Today, the police claimed that they had arrested Sadiqullah Afridi, brother of the accused who is being alleged to be involved in the murder.
According to the police, Mujahidullah and his brother were both at the scene of the crime.
The victim had identified Mujahidullah as her murderer to the police before she succumbed to injuries in hospital.
The girl’s father alleged Mujahidullah, who is a relative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) district president Aftab Alam, of being involved in various other criminal activities. Alam in a video message had condemned the incident and said justice would be served.
District Police Officer (DPO) Abad Marwat has assured that the case is being investigated thoroughly and that accused would soon be arrested.
