WANA: Two soldiers were martyred and three others injured in a landmine blast in South Waziristan’s Barmal area on Sunday.
According to details, security forces were patrolling an area when their vehicle struck a landmine planted on the roadside. Resultantly, two personnel martyred on the spot while three were critically injured. The injured were rushed to Field Hospital, Wana.
A search operation was launched in the area following the incident but no arrests were made.
A statement from the military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, named the two martyred soldiers as Sepoy Attaur Rehman and Sepoy Imran Ali. In November 2016, an army officer, Major Imran, was martyred in an improvised explosive device blast in Wana. Six other soldiers were also injured.
