SRINAGAR: A complete shutdown is being observed in Indian-occupied Kashmir against Indian parliamentary polls, which are to be held for Srinagar constituency on Sunday.
According to media reports, the call for the shutdown was given by joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yaseen Malik.
Shops and businesses were closed, while city centre Lal Chowk carried a deserted look.
Moreover, clashes continue to occur in Soura and Kralpora Chadoora and other areas of Srinagar. Stringent security measures have been taken with deployment of Indian troops and police personnel across the territory, causing huge inconvenience to the people.
