LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a factory that was making impersonating an international brand and selling fake soft drinks.
A team, under the supervision of PFA Director Operations (DO) Rafia Haider, carried out raid at the factory, located at Kala Khatai Road, after confirmation of fake soft drink production.
During the raid, the PFA team confiscated 5,000 filled soft drink bottles along with raw material of 20,000 bottles, as well as large number of empty bottles. Rafia Haider said that Afri foods factory prepared fake soft drinks of an international brand (Sting) and refilled in bottles overnight.
PFA has lodged FIRs against factory owners in the respective area police station. The PFA DO further said that they were also not maintaining the quantity and quality of nutritional during its preparation process, which caused the drinks to become the cause of several diseases.
Separately, PFA also sealed another factory at Multan district by confiscating 3,800-litre juice and 1,800 packets of pulp.
