ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office’s Director General for South Asia and SAARC Dr Mohammad Faisal on Tuesday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC) the other day, which resulted in the martyrdom of three Pakistani soldiers.
Indian forces fired on Pakistani forces and civilians from 10:55am to 11:20am on February 13 in Thub area of Bhimber Sector.
Dr Faisal said that the deliberate targeting of civilians and soldiers was indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.
The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire understanding; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
