LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, discussing the Lahore blast, said on Tuesday that the blood of the martyrs was a debt on the country.
He tweeted that he had just visited the injured in Ganga Ram hospital and had been deeply touched by the high spirits of the injured civilians, police officers and jawans.
“Heart bleeds at the loss of precious lives including those of my team members Ahmad Mobin and Zahid Gondal martyred in the line of duty,” he added.
He lamented that the terrorists had struck at the heart of Pakistan, adding that they did not know that patriots like Mobin and Zahid were prepared to defend the country at the cost of their lives.
“The blood of martyrs is a debt on us and we are going to come after our enemies wherever they are holed up”, the chief minister added.
He said a flurry of blasts in Quetta and Lahore proved that though the enemy may have been weakened, however they were still ever-present. He also emphasised that Pakistan stood united in the fight to uproot terrorism.
“Pakistanis pay homage to their police officers and jawans and my heart goes out to bereaved families,” Shahbaz said.
