ISLAMABAD: Former chief justice of Pakistan and Justice and Democratic Party (JDP) Chairman Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and offered Fateha for those martyred in Mastung suicide attack.
The former CJP met the JUI-F chief along with a delegation. He expressed his sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in Mastung attack on JUI-F leader and Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Ghafoor Haideri. He also offered Fatiha for the departed souls.
Talking to media after the meeting, he said that Balochistan situation had deteriorated. He proposed that besides initiating dialogue with the dissidents, the culprits involved in gruesome act of murder and terrorism should be punished.
He demanded of the government to implement Justice Qazi Faez Essa’s report regarding Balochistan. On the occasion, he said that attempts were being made to provoke religious-minded youths to take up arms against the state.
He added that they wanted Pakistan to be a safe and cradle of peace. The JUI-F chief said that incident like Mastung attack could not hinder them to achieve their goals.
