LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has demolished 16 buildings over building by-laws violation during a crackdown on illegal constructions and housing schemes in the provincial capital on Saturday.
The Town Planning Wing of the LDA and the Estate Management Directorate (Private Housing Schemes) separately carried out operations along with police contingent in their respective areas.
During an operation in a housing scheme, the Town Planning Wing of the authority demolished seven buildings. Three shops were bulldozed in Moza Kacha area. The LDA team also demolished five factories in Allah Ho Industrial Estate, and also stopped construction work on a building at Noor Residencia Housing scheme.
Separately, LDA’s Estate Management Directorate (Private Housing Schemes) also tore down boundary walls, gates, roads and other infrastructures during an operation in Breeza Homes, Mughal Homes and Skyland Housing Scheme.
An illegal marquee was also demolished in Township area.
