ISLAMABAD: The 128th meeting of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) approved the authority’s budget for the fiscal year 2017-18.
The meeting, which was presided over by PEMRA Chairman Absar Alam, was held at the PEMRA’s Headquarters on Thursday. The authority also approved grant of PhD and MPhil allowances for eligible employees working with the regulator.
Besides, the meeting also extended approval to an ‘assistance package’ for families of the PEMRA employees, who died during service in line with the package announced by the government. The authority also approved the request for change in programming content within the same category for satellite TV channel ‘Filmazia’.
Those who attended the meeting include Interior Ministry Secretary Arif Ahmed Khan, Information Secretary Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, PTA Chairman D. Ismail Shah, member (Punjab) Nargis Nasir and member (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) Shaheen Habibullah.
