KARACHI: Power was restored in many parts of the city on Monday morning after a major breakdown as a transmission line of the national grid tripped.
K Electric took to the Twitter to inform the citizens and said, “Partial supply from national grid has resumed and restoration of power supply to affected areas is progressing swiftly. Supply to parts of Korangi, Garden, Jacob Line, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulshan, Defence, Gizri and Landhi has started.”

In another Tweet, the company further informed, “Full restoration is expected to be achieved over the next few hours.”

Earlier this morning, a major power outage hit the city as the 500 kV transmission line connecting KE to the national grid tripped.

This has had a rollover effect on Karachi’s electric supply due to which various parts of the city are experiencing an outage, KE added.

Areas affected by the power outage include Clifton, Gulistan-e-Johar, North Nazimabad, Jahangir Road, FB Area, Malir, PECHS, Garden, Buffer Zone, Nazimabad and Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
