The Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, visited Gawadar on Tuesday to review the arrangements of the upcoming meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s (APA) Standing Committee on Political Affairs to be held in the last week of October.
The Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz, and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice, Senator Javed Abbasi, also accompanied the Chairman Senate during his visit.
The Senate chairman was briefed about the arrangements for the meeting. He expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made for the conference and said that it was a collective responsibility of all the concerned personnel to make this meeting a success as it will not only help in better projection of the soft image of Pakistan but would highlight the real potential of Gawadar as a port city.
Chairman Senate further said that Gawadar was not only in the best interests of Pakistan but the whole of Asia. He said that Gawadar would become a hub of trade activities thus accelerating economic development of the region. He said that the operationalization of Gawadar port and other CPEC projects would provide jobs to the locals in Pakistan and uplift the quality of life of common citizens.
The Chairman Senate also directed the concerned authorities to make this important meeting a success and appreciated the authorities for the excellent work done so far.
