ISLAMABAD: As early results showed the victory to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party chairman Imran Khan summoned on Thursday a consultative meeting of party leaders at his residence in Bani Gala, sources reported.
According to the sources, the meeting will be presided over by Khan and it will further decide the party’s next strategies regarding government formation.
Later today, Khan is expected to announce an action plan for the formation of a new government, sources added.
Sources reported that during the meeting, the party leaders will be assigned to contact independent candidates from across the Punjab, moreover, the will also form a strategy to handle opponent’s rigging allegations.
The party is ready to embrace the victory as unofficial results showed a major clean sweep in the country, however, on the other hand the opponent party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rejected the results citing outright rigging.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denied the allegations citing that elections were “100 percent fair and transparent.”
