KARACHI: The Anti-Corruption Court (ATC) on Thursday reserved the verdict regarding former SSP Rao Anwar’s bail plea in Naqeebullah murder case.
During the session, complainer Advocate Salahuddin gave the arguments before the court. He stated that Naqeebullah along with his companions was murdered in a fake encounter at around 3:21 minutes while Rao held a press conference confirming their death earlier around 1:21.
On the other hand, Salahuddin added, Rao was present at the site of encounter.
He also stated that Anwar called the media and police and told them about the police encounter. The Advocate informed the court that Rao is a high profile culprit and has done many fake encounters which the police has confirmed. That’s why he should not be released on bail, he added.
Rao Anwar along with his eleven subordinates is accused of killing Naqeebullah Mehsud and three others in a fake encounter on January 13 in Malir.
