LAHORE: World Health Organization (WHO) praised Punjab’s efforts in combating against polio on Friday, while PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif re-announced his party’s pledge to continue efforts of revamping child healthcare.
Through social media website Twitter, WHO commended in a tweet that Punjab government is strengthening routine to vaccinate children. “Well done, Punjab!” the tweet said.
The organisation also shared graphics showing improved immunisation coverage across the all across the province.
In a meeting with a delegation on Friday, Shehbaz chief minister of Punjab for the last decade, addressed in a meeting with a delegation that the PML-N saved thousands of children and also promoted the welfare of the general public. PML-N provided these children accessible healthcare and good educational facilities, it was added.
“We led relentless fight on polio. We can’t allow this disease to play havoc with the future of our children and country. The healthy and polio-free development of our children is our passport 2 prosperous Pakistan. Endorsement by WHO is an acknowledgement of our efforts in this regard,” Shehbaz responded.
