LAHORE: Television actor Matloobur Rehman, famous for his role of ‘Zakoota Jin’ in children’s comedy show ‘Ainak Wala Jin’ passed away on Friday after prolonged ailment.
Matloob alias Munna Lahori was taken to Mayo Hospital, after his health deteriorated, where he breathed his last. The actor was suffering from paralysis.
The character of ‘Zakoota’ in ‘Ainak Wala Jin’, a TV program that aired from 1993-96, had Matloob as one of its pillars. His iconic dialogue ‘Mujhe Kaam Batao Mai Kya Karun Mai Kisko Khaon?’ established itself as a popular catchphrase in the 90s and it remains one to date.
His funeral would be held after Zuhr prayer later today. The actor is survived by a widow, three sons, and two daughters.
Aggrieved Pakistanis took to Twitter to express sorrow on Matloob’s demise.
