BEIJING: A seasoned diplomat, Yao Jing, has been appointed as new Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, sources close to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday. Yao Jing was most recently Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan.
Formal announcement of Yao’s new assignment would be made soon, it was said.
Yao Jing will replace Sun Weidong, who served Pakistan for more than four years.
