ISLAMABAD: The Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) and the Thar Foundation (TF) Saturday agreed to explore areas to work together for development of Thar.
The world-famous cricketer, Afridi, has announced to visit Thar soon.
In this connection, Afridi along with senior officials of the SAF visited the head office of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC), and discussed options for future collaboration between the two organisations. The TF is already working in Tharparkar district through different interventions in health and education sectors.
SECMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shamsuddin Shaikh briefed the visiting delegation on the TF’s interventions in health, education sectors. “The TF looks forward to a productive collaboration between the two foundations in the areas of health, education and livelihood for the people of Thar,” he added.
Appreciating the TF’s work in the region, Shahid Afridi assured his full support for further collaboration. He said that he along with officials from his organisation would soon visit Thar to witness the work being done by the Thar Foundation.
