Following the fake news of a drug bust involving Hadiqa Kiani, the renowned Pakistani singer has decided to file a defamation suit against the British website that broke the news.
Last month, Metro-UK claimed that Hadiqa had been arrested for an attempt to smuggle 2kg of cocaine in bags of coffeeat the London Heathrow Airport.
The singer rejected the media reports claiming that she was caught with drugs.
She had lashed out at the websites and tweeted saying that she was currently in Lahore attending her nephew’s birthday.
The singer posted a photo on Twitter, with a caption that read, “Photo taken today in Lahore with my mother and son! Cannot believe how this fake London news has been spread.”
Expressing shock and disgust over the news, Hadiqa said, “It’s a shame that at this stage of my career,I have to address such nonsense.”
