ISLAMABAD: Today (Tuesday) Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will end the scrutiny of nomination papers of the candidates for upcoming general elections that are scheduled to be held on July 25.
According to the electoral body, for national and provincial assemblies, a total number of 21,482 nomination papers have been filed across the country.
As per ECP, at least 15,419 candidates have filed nomination papers for the seats of the provincial assemblies while 6,063 candidates will contest for the 342 seats of the National Assembly.
According to ECP appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers can be filed till June 22.
The decision based on the appeal will be filed by June 27 and list of final candidates will be issued on the June 28.
