ISLAMABAD: In a First Information Report (FIR) pertaining to two individuals on a motorcycle who collided with US diplomat Second Secretary Chad Rex Ausburn on Sunday night, the Police have held the motorists responsible for ‘driving recklessly’ and have let the diplomat go.
The incident occurred at 9.40 pm Sunday night, near the Secretariat roundabout on the capital city’s Shahrah-e-Dastoor.
The motorists were identified as Nazakat Aslam Awan and Muhammad Waseem. Both of them were immediately shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and are said to be out of danger.
The diplomat, moreover, was temporarily held by the Police who claimed they would only release him on authorisation from the Foreign Office.
However, an FIR was later lodged against the motorists and the diplomat was set free once the Police recorded his statement.
