SHIKARPUR: At least four people were killed and 16 sustained injuries in separate road accidents on Saturday.
As per the details, first unfortunate incident occurred at Dakhan Town bus stand where two cars collided with a rickshaw. This accident claimed 2 lives including a new born baby boy and 14 people sustained injuries.
According to an official of Dakhan Police Station, a speeding car coming from Shikarpur towards Rato Dero Town lost conrol and hit the stationary rickshaw which was loading passangers at which in turn collided with four other pedestrian while another car which was coming from Larkana towards Shikarpur collided with a rickshaw and a car which had just hit the first rickshaw.
As a result of the accident, an eight year old boy identified as Mir son of Ghulam Mustafa Shar died on the spot, a rickshaw passenger, and a four day old newborn baby boy, whose name had not kept by their parents as yet. Passenger traveling in a car which was coming from Larkana died on the spot, the newborn baby boy’s fathers name is Muhammad Ali Khokhar, resident of Newdero Town of District Larkana, an official said.
Those injured were identified as Abdullah Chandio, Roshan Thaheem, Junaid Khokhar, Ms Sughran Khatoon, Rizwan, Miss Saima Chandio, Raja Shar and others.
The area police shifted the bodies and injured to Dakhan Rural Health Centre (RHC) for medical formalities and bodies handed over to their families after completing medical formalities while the injured were admitted for medical assistance and whose condition is said to be stable.
Second accident took place in Kandhkot district where a speeding trawler collided with a motorcycle at Kandhkot bypass, which killed two motorcyclists identified as Begum Khatoon and Waheed Khoso while another motorcycle rider named Muhammad Ali Khoso sustained severe injuries.
Area police rushed to the spot and moved the bodies to Kandhkot hospital for autopsies and handed over to their families after conducting autopsies and injured was said to be out of danger. Area police impounded the trawler while the trawler driver reportedly managed to escape from the scene.
