ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to announce today its verdict in the case pertaining to Khawaja Asif’s disqualification for holding an iqama (work permit) from a company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The verdict is in response to a petition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar filed, that claims that the incumbent Foreign Minister did not mention his foreign employment while filing his nomination papers for Parliament.
The petition also claims that FM Asif is an employee of the Abu Dhabi based company, International Mechanical and Electrical Co (IMECO), and has a monthly salary of AED 35000, along with a monthly allowance of AED 15000.
A bench of the IHC headed by Justice Athar Minallah had earlier reserved its judgment on the petition on the 10th of April.
